I have to say I love being a Georgia Girl and most of all cooking like one. Who could for ask more we have great watermelons, peaches and apples, but in the summertime nothing is like fresh vegetables from the garden or even your back porch. I can remember as a child my parents having a garden sometimes big ones and sometimes small ones. Now that I am married my in- laws plant a huge garden full of cucumbers, squash,pepper, green beans, okra,corn and of course tomatoes I love cooking a supper full of all these yummy foods. I also enjoy freezing some of it for the winter months. I love that my mom taught me how to cook at a young age I have always love being in the kitchen with her. Judson cut all the squash and okra for this meal, I talk to him about foods that have seeds and if they grow on a bush,vine or in the ground like potatoes he loves learning about the way they grow their color and that makes me smile I hope he will love to cook like a Southern one day!!! I would also like to say you can not cook like this unless you have a cast iron skillet.
